Is Hubpages Cheating You? Easy Check
70
Are You Sure Hubpages is NOT a Scam?
OK. Hubpages has been around for a very long time and you are pretty sure that it is not a scam. I mean it's almost same as alleging that Google Adsense or Amazon Affiliates is a scam, right? Well, it may be so, but even then why trust in hearsay when you easily test for yourself whether Hubpages is a scam (or at least cheating you) or not? This is a guide to show you how.
Have You Set Your Affiliate Settings Correctly?
Before even trying to find out if Hubpages is cheating you or not you should verify that you have set your affiliate IDs correctly. This is simple enough. Simply log in to your Adsense account and go to MY Account>Account Access and see if you can find Hubpages under Sites.
Alternatively, go to your Hubpages account and then My Account (top right of your screen)>Earnings>Affiliate Settings and then click on Google Adsense Reports and see if it points to your Adsense account.
I either of these tests FAIL then your Adsense account has NOT been correctly configured. So check out one of the numerous Hubpages Tutorials on the topic and pray for the best!
But otherwise (and this is much more likely) read on to find out for yourself if Hubpages is a scam or not.
How Can Hubpages Cheat You?
Hubpages does not pay you directly but allows you to earn revenue through a number of affiliate programs. So there is no way Hubpages can be a scam in the conventional sense of the word. In fact the only way (I can think of) in which Hubpages can cheat you is by not giving you your allocated 60% Adsense ad impressions. So basically what you need to check is whether your adsense code is getting displayed 60% of the time on your Hubs.
Is Hubpages Cheating You?
This is what you should do to check whether Hubpages is cheating you or not:
- Open one (or several) of your Hubs in different windows
- Right Click on each Hub and then select View Page Source. A new window will open with a URL view-source:http://hubpages.com/hub/Is-Hubpages-Cheating-You-Easy-Check?done
- Now press ctrl+F on your keyboard and use the search bar to search for your Adsense ID on the source page.
- Repeat this process several times, reloading your Hub pages (and not the source page) after each try and see if your Adsense ID is being displayed approximately 60% of the time.

The topic was attention grabbing. However, the article was a bit self defeating because throughout the content there was an indication that Hubpages was not cheating the writer.
I hadn't ever thought to check. Thankfully alert people like you usually will, so I can relax.
