Top 3 Tom Cruise Movies
72
Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, better known to hundreds of millions of movie lovers world wide simply as Tom Cruise is considered to be one of the greatest and most talented actors of his generation alongside the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.
His astronomical rise to Hollywood super stardom is not a fluke but rather a result of several defining factors that sets Cruise apart from the 1000s of wannabe but unfortunately unsuccessful Hollywood male actors.
Cruise has used his God-gifted striking good looks and powerful stage presence to good effect and expertly used a great instinct and aptitude for choosing the 'right' films to navigate him through the potentially dangerous Hollywood underbrush of mediocre movies which are doomed to be forgotten even before they hit the screen.
Tom Cruise has starred in a number of critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies and has already left an indelible mark in the annals of Hollywood.
Here's taking a look at my top 3 Tom Cruise blockbusters:
Top Tom Cruise Movie # 3 : Jerry Maguire
Jerry Maguire (1996) is basically a rom-com starring Tom Cruise (as Jerry Maguire) and Renee Zellweger (as Dorothy Boyd) and is told on the rather innovative backdrop of the cut-throat competitive world of major league sports agents.
When Jerry Maguire, a top sports agent, is booted out of the company for rather inconviniently speaking his mind he decides to set up a company of his own and is forced to put his grand scheme to the litmus test-- offer personalized service to a single sport star, and he is joined in his venture by his ex-subordinate Dorothy Boyd.
But, Jerry's personal client happens to be a little known NFL player, Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), who is always bitter about not getting the recognition and earn the money he thinks he deserves and has way too much attitude than is good for him.
Can Jerry bring Rod to his senses and make a much needed profit before his business goes under and Dorothy leaves him for good to get a job in another city?
Funny, charming and touching, Tom Cruise's Jerry Maguire is definitely a prime pick for rom-com lovers of all ages.
Top Tom Cruise Movie # 2 : Mission Impossible
When Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) elite CIA teams gets decimated before his very eyes little does Cruise know that it was all part of a massive mole hunt and since he is the only survivor the CIA believes him to be the mole in question.
The only way Hunt can clear his name is by revealing the real mole and has to play a dangerous game with top terrorist spy Max and penetrate the top secret section of the CIA HQ with his hastily organized team of disavowed CIA agents. But, things take a nasty turn when Hunt realizes that the mole is buried very deep within the CIA hierarchy.
Fast and gripping with cutting edge technology and a solid story with twists galore makes Mission Impossible a movie to watch out for. 100 minutes of pure adrenaline pumping action!
Top Tom Cruise Movie # 1 : A Few Good Men
Starring alongside Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore, Tom Cruise plays the role of a Lt. Daniel Kaffee, Navy lawyer assigned the task of representing two marines charged with the alleged murder of another marine, who was according to many at the base a disgrace to his corps.
But, the head of the base Col. Nathan R. Jessep (Jack Nicholson) seems to be holding back vital information and tampering with evidence, convincing Daniel that the accused are merely the unfortunate scapegoats of a much larger conspiracy.
A Few Good Men is a classic court room drama where Cruise is allowed to show off his brilliant oratory skills (along with his blazer clad good looks) and despite a powerful caste it is most defintely and undeniably a Tom Cruise movie as everyone else is forced to take a backseat and enjoy the sheer Cruise control.
Further Suggestions
- Collateral
- The Last Samurai
- Minority Report

A lot of good choices of movies there, but I think you're on a good track with your selections.
Optimus Grimlock, Night and Day was hilarious. I liked how they often made fun of the whole Action Movie thing. I voted for Mission Impossible. I liked that one a lot, but if there was Born On the Fourth July I would've choose that one.
Born on the Fourth of July really showed Cruise's acting skills better than any movie he's done since.
