Xomba and How it Compares with Hubpages
66
How does Xomba Work?
Xomba is pretty similar to Hubpages in the sense that it is also an article sharing website where authors are compensated directly through the Google Adsense program.
On Xomba you can either chose to write an article (over 150 words) or a social bookmark (at least 50 words) but you can earn revenue from articles only.
You must have an active Adsense account of your own (like Hubpages) in order to monetize your Xomba articles. But unlike Hubpages revenue sharing is on a flat 50-50 scale of the revenue earned and not based on ad zone views.
Unlike Hubpages, you must run in-text ads on your Xomba posts and in all probability the revenue generated from them is not shared with the author.
A major plus point for Xomba is that they do not claim exclusive rights to your articles and you are free to republish them elsewhere.
The Xomba User Interface
Xomba uses a standard Blogger style user interface which is clean and easy to work with. However, it totally lacks the cool user interface of Hubpages meaning that there is no way to add useful capsules such as Amazon, Ebay etc. to your Xomba posts. Also due to the absence of the modular interface it is slightly more difficult to properly structure the article and a certain amount of extra pre-planning is required on this score.
However, compared to the user interface of some other content sharing sites like Bukisa and Suite101 the Xomba user interface looks pretty cool.
Traffic on Xomba
Xomba seems to have a pretty active community and you can expect to get hots to your articles almost as soon as they are published. As for traffic volume, for me at least it matches almost exactly to my Hubpages traffic and falls way short of the traffic attracted by my Suite101 articles.
Update on Xomba
Please note that Xomba has modified its publishing policies and now accepts only unique articles and the minimum word count is 200

I apologize for my confusion, I thought you meant that you are able to take them off of hubpages at anytime and publish them elsewhere. Yes, You are right hubpages does prefer the originals published here first and then linked back to the hub. But hubpages does not take any ownership of the articles. My misunderstanding of what you were trying to say. Thanks for the Xomba review.

I just wanted to add that Hubpages also, "does not claim exclusive rights to your articles and you are free to republish them elsewhere." I was unsure if you knew that.
I hope you enjoy your stay here on hubpages.
